Philippians

The book of Philippians is a letter written by the apostle Paul from prison in Rome to the church in the Roman colony of Philippi. The letter was authored around a.d. 61.

Paul reports on his missionary work and thanks the Philippians for the gift they sent him when they learned he was in prison. This is a very positive letter, with frequent use of the word “joy”. Paul provides a wonderfully inspirational description of our Lord Jesus in chapter 2.
