The Gospel of John

This gospel was authored by John, “the disciple whom Jesus loved”. John wrote this gospel sometime between a.d. 50 and 70, although in the traditional church it was historically believed to have been written later than a.d. 85.

John’s gospel is distinctive in that it focuses on the divinity of Jesus and the significant events that identify His mission and identity as God incarnate.
