Devotional on Hebrews 1:1-2
Hebrews 1:1-2 (ESV) states, “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”
These opening verses of Hebrews encapsulate the grand narrative of God’s communication with humanity. In different epochs, God used a multitude of voices—prophets, dreams, visions—to reveal His will and purpose. Each message was a piece of the divine puzzle, guiding God’s people closer to the ultimate Truth. But now, in the fullness of time, God has delivered His clearest revelation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Consider the implications of this transition: the prophets were vessels of God’s voice, while Jesus is the full embodiment of that voice. He is not merely a prophet but the Son of God—heir of all things and the one through whom the universe was created. This highlights not only the authority of Christ but also the intimacy of His relationship with humanity. He is God’s final word, a divine conversation that reaches its pinnacle in His life, death, and resurrection.
In our lives, understanding that God speaks through Jesus changes everything. It invites us to a personal relationship with Him, rather than leaving us to decipher fragmented messages from afar. Jesus is our direct line to God. In the struggles, doubts, and uncertainties we face, we can turn to Him for clarity and comfort.
As we meditate on this truth, let us remember that the Creator of the universe seeks to communicate with us daily. He invites us to listen, reflect, and respond to His voice through scripture, prayer, and community. Let us be attentive to how He speaks into our lives, molding us into vessels of His love, grace, and truth for a world in need.
May we embrace the privilege of knowing Him and sharing His message with those around us.
Thank You and God Bless
