Acts 3:8 Devotional

Devotional on Acts 3:8

“And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.” – Acts 3:8 (ESV)

In Acts 3, we meet a man who has been lame from birth, relying on the charity of others for survival. This day, however, marked a profound shift in his life. When Peter and John encountered him at the Beautiful Gate, they offered not what he thought he needed (money), but something far greater—healing in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The miraculous transformation that followed serves as a powerful reminder of God’s ability to change our lives in ways we cannot imagine.

Imagine the sheer joy of this man as he stood up for the first time, leaping and praising God as he entered the temple. His physical healing was not just a personal victory; it was a profound witness to everyone around him about the power of the risen Christ. It is often easy for us to overlook the transformative moments in our lives, especially when we are weighed down by our own struggles, disappointments, or limitations.

Every day, we encounter opportunities to seek God’s intervention in our lives. Like the lame man, we often come to God with our own perceived needs, which may be far more limited than what He has in store for us. When we approach Him with an open heart, ready to receive not just what we ask for, but what He desires for our lives, we can experience a true leap of faith.

This passage invites us to examine our own walk with God. Are we content to remain in our comfort zones, clinging to what we think is essential? Or are we willing to embrace the healing and freedom that comes from a complete reliance on Him? Today, let us take a leap of faith, allowing God’s transformative power to guide us into a new season of walking, leaping, and praising Him for all He has done and will continue to do in our lives.
