Lamentations 3:25 Devotional

Devotional on Lamentations 3:25The Lord Is Good to Those Who Wait

Scripture: Lamentations 3:25 – “The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” (ESV)

The book of Lamentations is filled with sorrow and grief. Written in the aftermath of Jerusalem’s destruction, it gives voice to deep pain and despair. Yet in the midst of these heavy words, a quiet, shining hope breaks through: “The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”

This verse is a gentle reminder that even in our darkest seasons, God’s goodness does not fail. His kindness is not limited to good days or easy times. In fact, it often becomes most evident when everything else has fallen away. When we are left with nothing but our hope in Him, we find that He is more than enough.

To “wait” or “hope” in the Lord means to trust Him patiently, to rest in His timing, and to believe in His promises—especially when we can’t see the outcome. Waiting isn’t passive. It’s an act of faith. It means we keep seeking God, even when our hearts are weary. It means we lean on His Word, even when answers feel far away.

Lamentations 3:25 assures us that God sees this kind of faith. He is good to those who wait, who seek, who refuse to let go of Him even in sorrow. His goodness may not always look like immediate relief, but it always leads to deeper intimacy, greater strength, and eternal hope.

If you’re in a season of waiting—waiting for healing, breakthrough, direction, or peace—be encouraged: The Lord is near. He is working, even in silence. He is good, even in sorrow. Keep hoping. Keep seeking. He will not disappoint.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being good to those who hope in You. Teach me to wait patiently and seek You faithfully, even when life feels heavy. Strengthen my heart to trust Your timing and to believe that You are always near. I place my hope in You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank You and God Bless
